How do I become a patient at The Free Medical Clinic?
Make sure you qualify for our services - you cannot have any health coverage (insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, VA, etc.) and your annual household income must be at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Level. If you qualify, please bring the appropriate documentation and arrive to claim your slot. You will be screened in by Clinic staff or volunteers.
Please note that we are a walk-in clinic - we do not make appointments for primary care; appointments are made for specialty care.
What if I don't have all of my documentation?
You will be permitted to see a provider, but medications from our on-site pharmacy will not be dispensed until all paperwork is received and verified. You will not be permitted to see a provider nor will any specialty appointments be scheduled until all paperwork is received and verified.

WHAT IF I NEED X-RAYS, AN MRI, OR OTHER TESTING?
You will be referred to one of our hospital partners. Palmetto Health and Providence Health both require application and certification before an appointment will be scheduled. Lexington Medical Center will require application and certification after the procedure.
