Pharmacy Volunteers

The Free Medical Clinic relies on over 24 volunteer pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to provide staffing for its Pharmacy operations capability.  Many volunteers choose to work one night a month (for example, 3rd Tuesday of the month).  The Pharmacy has a dispensing license and provided over $910,000 of pharmaceuticals to patients during 2002 and over $1.3 million in 2003.  The vast majority of these drugs are obtained through the pharmaceutical companies' patient assistance programs.

To volunteer, pharmacists must be licensed in South Carolina.
